Writing Challenges

Writing is what I do. Writing is who I am. Without writing, I would be lost.

Happily, there are plenty of writing challenges here on WordPress.  I hope to join in with many of the other writers on here,  to work on specific exercises in creative writing. Though some of the challenges come and go, and my writing muse is like a butterfly, not always easy to catch, I will do my best to participate.

If you want to see some of my creative writings, and perhaps even participate in a few challenges yourself,  scroll down to the Topics on the right of the page. All challenges and any other “creative” writing exercises will be under the topic Writing Challenge so that would be the best place to start. If you are looking for a specific challenge, they are under the following topics in alphabetical order. Green is for those that are currently active, Blue is for those that have ended. The active ones are linked if you would like to go see the challenges directly,  bypassing my contributions. 😉

100 word challenge  groups all of my challenges that are limited to 100 words

100WCGU  is the official 100 Word Challenge for Grown-Ups, hosted at Julia’s place.

Flash Fiction Faction  was hosted by Quill Shiv, though I haven’t seen anything recent

Friday Fictioneers was originally hosted by Madison Woods until she had to stop to concentrate on her own writing. Now Rochelle Woseoff-Fields has graciously taken over hosting.

IAWTW  hosted by Chris Donner and short lived, but good intentions, the letters stand for I Always Wanted to Write

Saturday Centus  is hosted by Jenny Matlock. Her blog is on Blogspot, but definitely fun to read, so worth the trip even if you don’t want to write! She also has an Alphabet Thursday which I haven not participated in . . . yet.

Writing Challenge is where all my challenge participation will be found.

More categories will be added as I find them and participate. This is only a sampling of the many writing challenges here at WordPress. If you have one you particularly enjoy, feel free to leave me a note with directions.

Happy reading!

  1. I will aspire to be your “evil” twin. I am an infant in the writing world, but I feel that I love it, and want it running through my veins, just as much as you. I would like to follow you, as I think I could learn a lot. You are an amazing writer. Thanks for recently stopping by my “Saturday Centus” post about Snow White. I was feeling very silly that morning, and this is what rolled off my fingers.

Hope you have a great week!

  2. Thank you so much, I take that as a great complement. I hope to see you joining in on some more of the challenges as they are great fun. I’m happy to have you stop by anytime, and hope to see more of your writing. 🙂
